Versatile Yarns I Always Keep on Hand

My Favorite Yarns I Always Keep on Hand

Over the years I’ve collected a lot of yarn, but there are a few staples I always keep in my collection. These are the yarns I reach for again and again because they’re affordable, easy to find, and work for so many different projects.

🧶 Red Heart Super Saver

This is the classic! It’s sturdy, affordable, and comes in tons of colors. I use it for blankets, home décor, and even some wearable projects. It’s a great all-purpose acrylic yarn to keep in your stash.

🧶 Lily Sugar ’n Cream

My go-to cotton yarn. Perfect for dishcloths, scrubbies, and kitchen projects. I love how durable it is, and the colors are always fun and cheerful.

🧶 Premier Cotton Yarn (Dishcloth Cotton)

I can’t remember the exact name right now, but Premier makes a cotton yarn that’s another favorite for dishcloths and potholders. It’s soft yet durable, and I reach for it when I want variety beyond Lily Sugar ’n Cream.

🧶 Lion Brand Pound of Love

This is a huge skein of acrylic yarn that’s perfect for big projects like blankets—or smaller projects when you don’t want to worry about running out of yarn halfway through. It’s soft, dependable, and one of those “always have on hand” yarns.
